Trooper seizes marijuana during traffic stop – Jan. 6, 2010

An Ypsilanti Post trooper seized three-quarters of a pound of marijuana during a traffic stop along southbound U.S. 23 in Washtenaw County.

The trooper conducted the traffic stop after the vehicle failed to signal. While engaging with three individuals in the vehicle, it was discovered that two had outstanding warrants.

The suspects gave the trooper consent to search the vehicle, and a half-pound of marijuana was found in the back seat under the passenger’s feet.  When patting down the front-seat passenger, the trooper discovered a quarter-pound of marijuana stuffed in the suspect’s pants.

The two subjects were lodged on warrants. Charges are being sought for possession with intent to deliver marijuana.
