This evening, two troopers working inside the Iron River Post were surprised to discover a felonious assault occurring in the post parking lot. The perpetrator, who was angry about the driving of another motorist, rammed a car on US-2 and again when the driver pulled into the post parking lot. The perpetrator then exited his vehicle and began beating the car with a tire iron and threatening the occupants. The troopers were able to stop the malicious destruction of property/felonious assault, but the suspect fled in his vehicle. Despite this, the suspect was positively identified and numerous charges are being requested.
