Out-of-place truck leads to drugs – March 19, 2010

While on patrol in Flint, two troopers observed a pick-up truck parked next to an abandoned building.  They touched the vehicle’s hood and discovered it was warm.  On approaching the building, they found a fresh boot mark on the building’s door, and when they entered the building, they found a marijuana growing operation.

The Flint Area Narcotics Group (FANG) was notified and responded to the scene.  When contact was made with two subjects at the residence next-door, the odor of marijuana was detected.  Troopers located and seized 119 marijuana plants from that residence and 20 plants from the building. They also seized two stolen handguns and one assault rifle.
