Grocery store robbery – Jan. 15, 2010

During the midnight shift, Groveland Post troopers were dispatched to an unarmed robbery at a grocery store. The manager advised the suspect had grabbed money from an open cash register while purchasing ice cream, then fled on foot.

A trooper located fresh footprints in the snow and the pursuit was on.  Within minutes, with the assistance of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department and their canine units, a perimeter was set up to contain the suspect.  During the track, the suspect’s vehicle was located in the grocery store parking lot, leading officers to a local address, where the suspect was found in his yard.
