Two Lansing Post troopers assisted the Eaton County Sheriff’s Department with the investigation of multiple break-ins. Footwear impressions and a cell phone found at the scene led to the development of suspects. Officers set up surveillance on a residence in Eaton County, which resulted in the arrest of one of the suspects. The second suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding child support warrant. The suspects provided officers with information about the location of some of the stolen property, including some long guns.
The MSP Emergency Support Team was activated to assist in serving a search warrant at the specified location, and a number of long guns were seized. Additional sites in Calhoun and Barry counties were also developed and search, resulting in the recovery of 17 long guns, a handgun and several GPS units.
Two additional individuals were taken into custody on unrelated charges, and the investigation continues.
