While conducting federally-funded drunk driving enforcement in East Lansing, Lansing Post troopers made a traffic stop for defective equipment. The troopers detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and found a small amount of marijuana in the driver’s possession. The driver was taken into custody and the backseat passenger was also searched. A large amount of marijuana and a digital scale were found on this subject, and a stolen 9mm Glock pistol was located in the vehicle. The backseat passenger, who lied about his identity, was identified via fingerprints using Livescan, and it was discovered he had 10 outstanding warrants, of which four were for felony charges.
